There are  several ways to help!

  • Volunteers are needed: To walk, bathe and groom the animals and give them love and attention.  Volunteer training is offered by the Humane Society. A perfect project  for a scout troop, campfire or 4-H group.
  • Donations are needed .  Another way for youth groups to participate is in staging brat frys, car  washes or bake sales to benefit the humane society. Contact Jodi Bratz  at 458-2012 for more information. Other items wlecomed are animal  treats, chewables such as rawhide bones and toys. Old rugs and blankets  provide some softness in the cages. Old towels are needed for drying the  dogs after they're bathed. Kitty litter is always wlecomed.
  • Members are needed: A  yearly membership costs $15 for adults; $5 for youth under 18; $100 for  a supporting membership and $500 for a lifetime membership. Especially  needed are active members and/or volunteers who would be willing to help  with such activities as educational presentations to groups about the  Humane Society; visiting nurshing homes with a shelter animal (pet  therapy); help with mailings; kennel help, cleaning cages, conducting  tours, office work, the writing of thank you notes, etc; or foster care,  providing care and socializing skills to special-needs pets in your own  home.
