Dirty Dan's Funland Training Ride 5-6-07 With the postponement, good friend Speedy Pete (PGOffroad) invited myself and others to his TOP SECRET training facility for a fun day of riding. Present were all the usual suspects; Speedy Pete, Heath (Gus) Drone, Brian (Da Pope) Mullane, Andrew (Halo Boy) Jensen, Ken (SSK) Schuck as well as a few new comers. Also out for a his first ride in a long time was Steve Barr and Joe (Egg Shell) Barr. The weather was perfect and with a little rain earlier in the week, the soil was in prime dirt biking condition. Pete has a technical woods course laid out that was a blast to ride. It had just the right combination of tight woods, flowing trails, steep ravines and a (normally) dry rocky creek section. In addition, there were 2 grass track sections for us wanna be 6 Days riders. I believe that the total lap length was around 3 mile. Unfortunately, I was on a very tight time schedule and had to leave after only 3 laps. Reports from my brother Marc who was there with his son Colton were that Egg Shell was attacking the grass track, driving in harder than anyone else, obviously putting his Pro flat track skills to good use (Joe needs to give me some pointers!).
