12-1-07 Update:  Well another year is in the books. Again I didn't get to as many races as I had hoped to (does anyone?). Even got the kart out a few times. Even though I need to get way more seat time in the kart, it was still a lot of fun to hang out with Bill Blumer, Greg Leatherberry and Al Weisnsel. These guys have seen me run a midget...so no stories of greatness in front of them!  Hopefully in 2008, the work schedule will ease up a little to make room for more racing!!

7-30-07 Update: Grand Rapids, MN Enduro was a disaster! After hooking up with Bryan Dixon for the 8+ hour drive, we arrived to set up camp next to Team PG Offroad. I wasn't feeling well when I went to bed and this was confirmed when I woke up Sunday morning. I had to force myself to eat breakfast....which came back up a short time later! I managed to make it to 1st gas where I had planned on re-grouping for the second half of the race. Unfortunately, my body had other plans as I woke up and hour later...still in my riding gear! I was bummed as the race was great up to that point. The heat bit most of the group with only "Iron" Bryan looking like he hadn't even worked up a sweat! At least I was well rested for the drive home. Team PG Offroad even had to rehap for a few hours before they could start drinking beer!!!!!  It was a great event (from what I rode) and can't wait to go again next year!!!

6-11-07 Update. Well plans fell though on attending the Dist 16 Enduro and Marquette, MI last week. Instead, I went riding at Crawford Hill (Black River Fall, WI) with former Cheese Head Peter Quiggly and Doc Joe Lacey. We put on a little over 40 miles on the Crawford Hills single track.

4-23-07 Update. This is the first installment for 2007. A lot has happened in the off season but the biggest blow was the closing on long time sponsor Barr's Kawasaki/KTM. I have been doing business with Steve Barr for over 20 years and without his help and support, there is no way that I could have raced as much as I did. The shop was more than a place to purchase bikes and parts, it was more of a club house for the off-road racers in the Madison area. I'm pretty sure that Steve has helped most if not all of the racers in the Madison area at one point or another. The Barr's will be missed!!! The good news is that Steve's son Joe has taken up enduro and hare scrambles and hopefully we will see Steve at more events!

Here is a link to a video that Joe Barr put together on the final "party" at the shop:

In other news, I have started the season in a hole already. I have missed the first 2 Dist 16 & Dist 17 enduros due to work conflicts. The first race of the season will be this weekend at Pearson, WI. This is one of my favorite races, but due to the limited time on the bike this spring (about 10 miles of grass track riding at Bob Kau's  aka Jerry Stanley Marshall Training Center), I could be in for a long day. Once again this year I will be riding a 2006 KTM 250 XC.
